  1. I have an autistic son who would very much like to have a trial introductory session for horse riding. Would it be possible to have a 1:1 session for a beginner for him (he’s verbal and social but very nervous around people, but in his element with animals). I’ve been horse riding before and am happy to accompany him at all times. He would just require a more private set up as he doesn’t like being watched (by other people, he would be comfortable with staff). He’s almost 8.

  2. Good evening,
We are Muddy Boots Outdoor Club and we run an Outdoor Playgroup and Forest School in the Bromley area.
We are looking for some more outdoor space to offer more sessions to families and be able to hold both clubs on the same site, to begin with using the area on 1-2 times a week with the view of increasing this over time. Ideally, we are looking to combine these two groups and run on weekdays and weekends but are open to keeping them separate if needed.
For the Playgroup, we would like to have a fenced off area where we can leave our play equipment such as mud kitchens, small climbing frames and water walls and the possibility of having a small fire pit to keep in line with forest school practises but this isn’t essential.
For the Forest School we would need a small area of Woodland, which we can set up various activities, ideally be able to keep out play equipment (Mud Kitchens) and have a campfire.
Access to water and toilets would be needed for both.
Currently we use an area for the Playgroup on some church grounds and use a school site for the Forest School sessions.
The Outdoor Playgroup is predominantly aimed for children between 2- 5 years and run during the week with some occasional weekend sessions. The Forest School runs on the weekend and is aim at all ages (from walking) and focuses on the Forest School ethos and involves a campfire.
Please also find a link to our website below with more details on the groups and how we run.
https://www.muddybootsoutdoorclub.co.uk. We have public liability insurance up to 10 million and are a registered limited company.
Please let us know if you have anything that you think may be suitable and failing this if you know someone else locally that might be able to help.
    Kind regards,
    Louise McKeown

  3. Hi,

We have just moved to Oxted and my daughter loves horse riding. She is 12 and can jump 1 m.

She doesn’t own a pony yet but I may buy her one in a year or so.

Do you think she could come for a trial lesson and to discuss?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best, Jason

  4. Called this stables today. No mentioning on this site that they will not instruct children under 7 years old due to insurance costs. Thought it worth mentioning before a wasted call.

  5. We have just moved into the area and was wondering if you have space for my 10 year old daughter. She has been riding for the past 6 months in Bromley and would like to find somewhere for her to continue in Biggin Hill. Please could you let me know the days and times that you have available.
    Many thanks
    Sarah

  6. hello, i was wondering if you would be open to volunteers (aged 13) and if she would be able to go on rides every once in a while to return all the vollentry work she does

  7. Hi, I was just wondering if the beginners assessment was for people who were just starting out or something you do to once you had, had some experience?

  8. Hi my little boy is 5 and has fallen in love with horses. Do you offer times when we can just visit the horses or a horse for 5-10 minutes that he can stoke and look at?

  9. What a lovely place! I bought my daughter for an assessment today. I wanted to express my thanks to the Manager, Rita, who was so accommodating, helpful and friendly along with the teacher and support person that walked along with the horse, Spencer. Had a really good vibe about this place when I originally booked with Sue, who was also very kind. My daughter is so looking forward to going again next week. Thank you so much.

  10. good afternoon

i was wondering if their was any part time jobs or volunteering with you guys

    regards

  15. I learnt to ride here 40 years ago.
It still looks absolutely amazing. If this is anything to go by….I am still riding,in fact I do British Eventing to this day .😍😍😍
Got to thank this place for my foundation in getting me riding xx

  16. Hi I am researching on the internet about beginners riding lessons. I found your riding school through Biggin Hill Website and followed the email link from there. I have never ridden a horse in my life. but I absolutely love horses and animals and feel that I have a close connection with animals and would love to get close to a horse and ride them as I know that they are very sensitive and therapeutic. I have a long standing illness of End Stage Kidney Failure and on dialysis three times a week and feel that this would really bring my spirits up again getting involved slowly but surely in Equestrian/Horses etc and gradually learn all about them at a steady pace. Not just riding, but grooming and learning tacking, saddle and many other ways to look after horses and hopefully grow from there. I would be grateful if you could send me information on the lessons I should go for as a complete beginner, the prices. I think I will be available on Sunday afternoons to begin with. And what type of clothing should I wear. Please email as soon as you can. kind regards.

  17. Hello to GreenAcre stables,

I would like to ask if my 2 daughters (8yrs and 11years) could start group horse back riding lessons if possible during the Sat or Sun starting after Oct half term (3-4Nov). They both have some experience.

Thank you very much for your reply.

  18. Good evening,
I am looking at booking an assessment lesson in either a Monday or Friday in September. I’m looking to return to riding after having 10 years break due to having my children. Please could you give me some further information? I am 5ft 7, and 9 stone.
    Laura

    1. Good to hear you want to return to riding again. Please give the stables a call directly. Call 01959 572008. Regards, BigginHill Webmaster.

  19. Hi my school are thinking about taking a class of 11 students around the age of 13 for just one lesson, would they all have to pay £25.00 each or would/could there be another group price arranged?

  20. Hello,

I was wondering if you take your ponies to Summer Fairs? Our usual stables can not help us this year. We would normally pay for the insurance and have a profit share of pony rides 60%/40% in favour of the stables with advertising in the lead up to the event via social media and within our Fair programme.

We are in Orpington and our Fair is on the 7th July.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this,

    Paula Grace

    1. Hi Paula, sadly the transportation is the big issue for us as we don’t have any and having 2 members of staff on call means we cannot provide this service this time. Really sorry.

      1. Hi Paula, would you be interested in a couple of free riding lessons as prizes. We would be prepared to donate 2 riding lesson vouchers as prizes in a raffle at the Tubbenden Lane Fair. Please call 01959 572008 and ask for Sue.

  21. Hello, am I correct in thinking that a group lesson for my 5 year old would be £15 for 30 minutes? If so can you tell me what days you provide these group sessions. Thank you Lydia

  23. Hi
I came with my 9 year old daughter earlier this year and she had one lunge lesson on a Saturday to establish if she could join a week day group. At this time, I believe you were having some staffing issues owing to different reasons and so we were unable to book any more lessons. I would like to know if we could resume a Saturday lunge lesson fairly soon and if she could then join a class after school on a week day.
    Kind regards
    Melinda

  33. Hello! My name is Grainne conville. I’m just enquiring about work experience for myself and my friend Amy Doyle. We are both 5th year students in Scoil Mhuire Ennistymon ,Co.Clare Ireland and we are both very interested in this place of work. We would like to travel to London to expand our experience. We think this would be a great opportunity to learn more about animals and the work involved in the stables as we are both very interested in veterinary. We love working with animals and feel like this would be a great environment to expand our knowledge. We are willing to do any work that is given to us. We really want to get a feel for working in the stables The dates that we would be doing the work experience are 14th-16th of March. Thank you so much for taking the time out to read this email And I look forward to hearing your reply.

  34. Hi,
I am 16 years old. I have had lessons in the past, but I would like to start again after the new year. I was wondering if there would be places available every other week on a Sunday and what the lesson times are? I want to have private lessons, with a bigger more outgoing horse, as I feel this will allow me to learn how to have better control of a horse.
    Thank you very much,
    Viktorija

  42. Hi I was wondering if you could email me so I can talk to you about the riding as would like to have a private lesson every Saturday or Sunday x

    1. Please apply directly to Greenacres Riding School. I am sure they will be happy to help you. Please mention that you found them through the BigginHill web site.

      1. Hello, could you please let me know your email address as I would like to make an enquiry.

        Many thanks

        1. Hello there, this question is a bit of a long shot but I went to Westerham Riding School in the late 1970’s and I’m trying to organise a reunion with former working pupils. Does anyone at Greenacres know of a Janet Bentley, Sheila Western or Mike Edmunds? We know Sheila came to Greenacres after failing her exams at WRS and passed once she came to your school.

          1. I used to keep my horse at Green acres in the late 70s. Mary was head girl, I think she had a white alsation called Blue. I would love to get in touch with some of the other girls who were around back then…I remember a girl called Loretta (Lettuce) and another called Mary Shane. Such happy times we had there

          2. Hi I remember Mary as head girl and Lettuce.
Does anyone remember Danny , Tango Henry and Bunter ( horses !)

          3. Hi, I remember Candy, Janet, Bean, Yvonne Mary, Sue and Wendy. Mary did have an alsation called Blue. We played a football match with the girls at Westerham equestrian centre, I can’t remember who won, can anyone remember, love to hear anyone from the.

          4. I was at WRS 81/82 it would be great to get in touch with the people who were there then.
There was still a Mike at that point not sure of his surname though

  43. I came across your riding stables and I would love to to work experience with you. I am currently 16 and 17 by summer this year. Do you offer work experience?
    Many thanks,
    Hannah Brunt

  44. Hi i have 1 beginner and 1 nervous rider, i was wondering what the cost would be if they was to so a private session together if possible?
