 Biggin Hill Airport is proud to confirm that Platinum Air 2000, one of our based charter and air taxi operators are launching a new scheduled service between Biggin Hill and Blackpool, starting on Monday 5th March 2001.

 The service will run once a day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays arriving from Blackpool at 0800hrs and departing back to Blackpool at 1800hrs.  Platinum will be operating an 18 seat Jetstream 31 aircraft; a twin engine pressurised turbo prop aeroplane that is a modern executive aircraft favoured by regional operators.  It is a quiet aircraft with good environmental performance and already operates in and out of Biggin Hill on a regular basis for ad hoc charter work.  It is known as the commuter aircraft of the regional airline industry. 

This new service is now the fastest transport link between the two cities and fares are in line with those offered to first class rail passengers, offering important time savings for business travellers.  Combine that with the comfort of an express check-in up to 5 mins before departure, VIP Lounge and executive coach transfer from Biggin Hill to Victoria. There is also ample free car parking for those passengers who prefer to make their own way.  With similar facilities at Blackpool, it isn’t hard to see why this route will really take off! 

Biggin Hill is only 12 miles from Central London and train services from Bromley South and Orpington railway stations take just 17 minutes into the City.  Both stations are just a 10 minute taxi ride from London’s premier business airport, offering express integrated transport services.
